talk show call-in special and allow callers from around the
country to express their views on the election and candidates.
Each one-hour talk-show special will begin at 11 p.m. on the
final night of each convention (the start time may be later if
the speech or coverage runs long). Each program will be hosted
by NPR's Neal Conan.

Be a Part of CMU Public Radio's "The Set List"
Saturdays from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Each Saturday night, Rick Westover is your host for two hours of genre-defying, musical bliss. If you call yourself a music fan, you'll want to spend some time with the latest addition to the CMU Public Radio Weekend.

Imagine a program where Aretha Franklin can hang with The White
Stripes, or where up and coming regional musicians can stand
alongside the latest indie-buzz band.

"The Set List" is a playground for sound, where you can play a vital role. Share your 'guest set' with Rick, and you may hear it in a future show. You just might even be invited to introduce your set.

How does it work? Find anywhere from 2 to 5 tunes that fit together. The tracks in your set may share a common theme, create a narrative; they might be covers of songs by one artist, or share a common sound. Just be sure you can explain why your selections work together.

Let's have some fun with the music: send your 'guest set' to
westo1rr@cmich.edu with 'guest set' somewhere in the subject line. And tune in to CMU Public Radio's "The Set List" every Saturday night at 9 p.m.

and America's folk revival of the 1930s and '40s.

Folk Songs and Ballads - Sunday, August 31 at 4 p.m.
Part two of this program evokes the exciting folk music revival
of the 1950s and '60s and the role Seeger played in it.

Topical and Protest Songs - Sunday, September 7 at 4 p.m.
Part three looks at the tradition of singing out for social
change, and how the music of the Civil Rights, anti-war, and
environmental movements galvanized Seeger's life.
