7th annual Teletubbies Get Up and Go! Day of Exercise

228 adults and children attended the 2007 Clare County Fun Day in the Park. WCMU Ready To Learn presented the 7th annual Teletubbies Get Up and Go! Day of Exercise. Children were able to get their picture taken with the Teletubbies, color a coloring page and the first 100 children received a Get Up and Go T-shirt. We exercised and danced to fun songs and afterwards, each child received a sports cup, bottle of water and certificate for participating.

Tom Ball shares reading, music with students

Tom Ball, WCMU Marketing Representative, reads “Berlioz the Bear” to Mrs. Ball’s Kindergarten class at Bangor West Elementary School as part of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Reading is Bay County’s Business” during the month of March. Tom also brought along his string bass--just like the one Berlioz played in the story! Thanks to the Bay Chamber for sponsoring this event!

Clifford visits northeastern Michigan

Kids and parents alike enjoyed the company of Clifford the Big Red Dog at “The Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan” in Alpena on March 24th. The event, sponsored by WCMU, featured two sessions; each session included storytime with Clifford, as well as hands-on activities for children. Children had the opportunity to get their picture taken with Clifford, and each child received a free Clifford coloring book. Approximately 235 children joined WCMU for the fun-filled day!

Celtic Woman Concert

Guests from all over Michigan joined WCMU for a bus trip to the “Celtic Woman” concert at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Forty-six guests---from Alpena, Traverse City, and Cadillac, to name a few places--joined WCMU-TV Producer Sarah Adams and Promotions Intern Nick Stokes for a fun-filled evening of music. WCMU is always sponsoring bus trips to music concerts!
