Morning Edition
Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

For more than two decades, NPR's "Morning Edition" has prepared listeners for the day ahead with up-to-the-minute news, background analysis, commentary, and coverage of arts and sports.

One of the most respected news magazines in the world, "Morning Edition" airs Monday through Friday on NPR stations across the United States, and around the globe on NPR's international services.

All-Request Fridays on CMU Public Radio
Friday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to Noon,
and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Imagine for a moment that it's a beautiful Friday morning, and Vivaldi's "Spring" would perfectly complement the sunshine. Or imagine that "Bolero" would be the perfect soundtrack for a rainy afternoon. CMU Public Radio music hosts are always looking for just the right music to take you through your mornings and afternoons, but now you, the listener, can be in the driver's seat with our "All-Request Fridays," a new monthly feature on CMU Public Radio. Once a month, "Music in the Morning" and "Afternoon Classical Music" feature the music that you request, providing you with a variety of selections from all genres.

John Diliberto

Echoes
Saturdays and Sundays at 6 a.m.

"Echoes" is a two-hour music soundscape, bringing together a wide array of styles, from acoustic to electronic, jazz to space music, the avant-garde to rock. "Echoes" is a sound that is cross-cultural and transmillennial, merging cultures and forms, technology and tradition, the ancient past and the possible future.

In addition to the many recordings heard on "Echoes," you'll also hear interview features with popular modern music figures such as Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush and Enya, as well as less well-known known composers such as Dead Can Dance, Steve Roach, and The Orb.

Garrison Keillor

A Prairie Home Companion
Saturdays at 6 p.m. and Sundays at Noon

Garrison Keillor and all of your friends from Lake Woebegone
invite you to tune in to CMU Public Radio for music, theatre and
fun. This week "A Prairie Home Companion" comes to us from The
Milwaukee Theater in Milwaukee, WI with special guests Leon
Redbone and the BoDeans.
