Ready To Learn provides extensive outreach services to the CMU Public Television viewing area. These services include workshops for parents, childcare providers and other early childhood professionals as well as the distribution of children's books and PBS Families/PBS para la Familia magazine.

Each year, WCMU invites children in grades K-3 to write and illustrate original story books and enter them in the contest. Entries are then sent to WCMU for judging. This year’s top contestants were chosen out of a pool of 100 entries.
