Television Producer Courtney Brooks is co-host of Inside Central for WCMU Public Television.

Courtney is a recent graduate from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. While at OU, she was President of Student Video Productions, a student organization that created programming for the campus television station. She has worked at other television stations as well, including Orion Neighborhood Television in Lake Orion, and 7&4 News in Traverse City with an internship.

Although Courtney was born and raised in northern metro-Detroit, she’s spent her summers on Lake Leelanau. She is excited to be creating and hosting programming for central and northern Michigan - the place that she has always called home.

Steve Smith is no stranger to Central Michigan University or CMU Public Broadcasting. A 35-year veteran of radio and television, Smith began his broadcasting career in the early 1970s as an announcer on WCMU Public Radio while still a student at CMU. His career has taken him to various radio and television stations around Michigan where he has had the opportunity to interview every president from Gerald Ford to George Bush and every Michigan governor from G. Mennon Williams to Jennifer Granholm.

In addition to his Inside Central duties, Smith is CMU's director of media
relations where he serves as university spokesman.

Away from the office Smith is involved with several professional and service organizations including the Special Olympics Michigan board of directors. In his spare time you are likely to find him running, biking, sea kayaking and enjoying his three grandkids.

Smith has been a co-host of Inside Central since the show's creation in
2001.
