Television Producer Sarah Adams is co-host of Inside Central and the producer and host of Michigan Memories.

Sarah started working in radio at age 15, as co-host and writer for a children's radio program. By age 16, she was one of the station’s on-air personalities. As a student at CMU, she worked as a host, reporter, news anchor, and producer, for many programs on student-run TV station MHTV, and was part of the CNN student bureau. She originally joined WCMU-TV as a camera operator and producer of the Inside Central segment "President's Corner" and was hired full-time in 2002.

Sarah has her Bachelor of Applied Arts in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts from Central Michigan University and is working on a Master of Arts degree in Broadcast Management in her "spare" time.

Sarah’s job takes her on the road a lot, which is fine with her! ”I love being on the road for the Michigan programming that we do,” says Sarah. “Dave Martin (photographer/ editor) and I not only get to visit beautiful places, enjoy local hospitality, experience one adventure after another, and have a great time traveling all over the state, but we get to meet some of the most amazing, kind, dedicated people I've ever known--that's the best part of what we do.”

Sarah was born and raised in metro-Detroit, but spent half of her life in the U.P. (her father was a pastor so the family moved around a lot). She enjoys spending time with her family and hanging out with friends all over the country. Sarah also loves singing (she is a vocalist with a musical group at her church), watching old movies, painting with watercolors, sketching, reading historical fiction and biographies, and her cat, Ellie.

When Steve Smith isn’t on the air co-hosting Inside Central, he serves as director of broadcast media relations for CMU's Public Relations and Marketing office. He came to CMU after a long career in radio and TV news, most recently as news director and operations manager at TV 9 & 10, Cadillac-Traverse City. In fact, he has interviewed every sitting president from Gerald Ford through the first George Bush and every Michigan Governor from G. Mennen Williams through Jennifer Granholm.

Steve has a B.A. in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts and Journalism from CMU, but claims to have taken a number of courses at the school of hard knocks!

It is not uncommon to see Steve running through Mt. Pleasant – literally! He is president elect of the Mount Pleasant Striders and competed in the Boston Marathon in April 2004. He also volunteers as a Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Isabella County. Steve is a native of Michigan and lives with his wife, Marcine, Lacey the yellow lab and Elliot the cat.

See you again in October
