Join instructor Tanya Ehrsam for a fun and creative workshop assembling a patchwork quilted tote bag. Both artistic and functional, you can play with colors & patterns, and learn simple construction techniques to machine sew your tote bag together. This is a great way to use scraps and fat quarters of various fabrics, or purchase pre-cut charm packs. Whether you have some sewing experience or are a beginner, all can learn something new and hone your sewing skills. Students will be provided a pattern, as well as a supply and fabric cutting list. Students may bring their own sewing machine or use one from Art Reach.
This workshop will be held from 1-5 pm on Friday, May 8, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway St. in Mt. Pleasant.
Recommended age: 12 and up
Supply List:
1 (42 pc) charm pack or 4 fat quarters in light & dark fabrics
1 yd coordinating fabric for lining & straps
½ yd Decor Bond or preferred interfacing/batting
*pattern makes a 14×18×4 in bag
