Destination Out - October 24, 2026

Every shade of blue on this week’s Destination Out. The show opens with the drum-driven blues of Max Roach and Stan Levey, then heads west for the swing of Howard Rumsey’s Lighthouse All-Stars, including a set with a young Miles Davis sitting in at the Hermosa Beach club. From there it ventures further out, with the brooding title track from Andrew Hill’s Blue Black and Charles Mingus’s restless “Three or Four Shades of Blue.”
