The number of Michiganders diagnosed with a suspected vaping related illness continue to rise.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services this week Thursday announced there are 35 confirmed and probable cases of severe lung disease associated with vaping.   There are another two possible cases.

The numbers have been rising steadily since state health officials starting investigating in late August.

One person in Michigan has died from vaping-related lung injury.  Nationwide, more than 2 dozen people have died, and about 13 hundred have fallen ill.

The exact cause of the vaping-related lung disease is unclear.
