This week on The Juke Joint is one of The Duke's Favorites, originally aired on September 2, 2018. In this episode, Robert offered a tribute to Louisiana swamp blues singer and harp player Lazy Lester, who had passed away on August 22, 2018, including his work with Lightnin' Slim and Lonesome Sundown. Lester loved vintage country music, so Robert surrounded the tribute with some of Lester's favorites, including Merle Haggard, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Ray Price, and Bob Wills. Robert also played four more tunes by Aretha Franklin and marked the centennial of the birth of acoustic bluesman Archie Edwards.
