Justin Michal of Grayling has announced his bid in the GOP primary for Michigan's 1st Congressional District. The seat has been held by U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet, since 2017.

Republican Congressman John Moolenaar is seeking his fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives in the newly drawn second congressional district. It includes most of central Michigan and parts of the Lake Michigan shoreline. This is the first time Moolenaar is facing a primary challenger in the past three election cycles.

Tom Norton, a former combat veteran from Kent county, says Republicans have failed over the last 30 years to deliver effective policies and accused them of not having a "backbone." Norton is challenging incumbent John Moolenaar, who is seeking his fifth term in the House of Representatives.
