The horse was from Roscommon County, the same county where Michigan's first human case of eastern equine encephalitissince 2021 was confirmed last month.

A Roscommon County resident has tested positive for eastern equine encephalitis. It's the first human case of the mosquito-borne illness in Michigan since 2021.
