MyMichigan Health will invest $12 million in a new outpatient clinic in Standish, which is slated to open in July 2027. A groundbreaking ceremony with MyMichigan's leaders and local officials was held on Tuesday.
“I don't think there's a broad enough understanding in Lansing or DC for that matter, the importance of, or the difficulty for that matter, of providing rural healthcare,” said State Rep. Mike Hoadley, R-Au Gres, who presented a Michigan Legislative Tribute to MyMichigan during the ground breaking ceremony.
The 20,000 square foot facility will offer geriatric psychiatry and physical therapy, among other services.
Michael Erickson is the president of the MyMichigan Standish facility.
“A $12 million investment into Standish, says we're going to be here. We're not going anywhere,” he said.
He says recent federal healthcare changes, including federal cuts to Medicaid, are creating “strong headwinds,” and new challenges, but they are prepared.
"We've had our different ups and downs with the different legislative initiatives over the years,” he said. “I think we've proven that we know how to adjust to that and to be able to be sustainable for our communities."
The new facility is one of many new investments MyMichigan has made in central and northern Michigan over the past few years.
MyMichigan acquired four facilities from Ascension across the region back in 2024. More recently, they spent $40 million to expand services in Clare.
