Pow Wow

With the 100th National Cherry Festival happening this week in Traverse City, cultures from all around the Grand Traverse region are coming together.

The rhythmic pounding of the drum echoed through Open Space Park on Tuesday, voices ringing out from the large tent housing the Kchi Wiikwedong Anishinaabek Pow Wow.

For 30 years, the Kchi Wiikwedong Anishinaabek Pow Wow has been part of the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City. Their goals: happiness and visibility.
